Job description
Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at XPT Software Australia, located in Sydney, you will report directly to the DevOps Lead. Collaborating closely with both development and operations teams, your role centers on supporting application and infrastructure deployment, automation, and monitoring. You will be integral in creating tools and processes designed to streamline development cycles and boost system stability.
Key Duties
- Assist with the deployment and setup of applications and services including Kubernetes, Lambda, ECS, and S3.
- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure components such as EC2, CloudFormation, S3, ALB, ELB, Lambda, ECS, ECR, ElastiCache, and API Gateway.
- Coordinate with various technology teams within AMP.
- Develop new CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts; resolve issues in current pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Monitor system health and performance via tools like Kibana, CloudWatch, and DataDog, troubleshooting when necessary.
- Maintain and improve the digital platform built on MongoDB, AWS services, Kubernetes, Lambda, and ECS.
- Leverage CI/CD methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist in both non-production and production project support.
- Identify and implement enhancements for the platform infrastructure.
- Keep abreast of emerging DevOps tools, technologies, and best practices.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong Linux system administration skills, particularly with Red Hat.
- Experience administering and managing Kubernetes clusters.
- Proficient in AWS services including but not limited to EC2, CloudFormation, S3, ALB, ELB, Lambda, ECS, ECR, ElastiCache, API Gateway.
- Competent in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Groovy.
- Experience constructing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Expertise in configuration management with Puppet or Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as DataDog and Kibana.
- Knowledge of package managers including Verdaccio, ECR, GitHub Packages.
- Experience managing container image registries such as ECR.
