Senior Development Manager - AI Products & Solutions (UAE Region)

In the role of Senior Development Manager, you will lead an engineering team that designs and develops AI-powered products and platforms focused on the UAE region. This role involves full responsibility across the entire software delivery lifecycle, encompassing planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication. You will support a diverse team working on scalable services, data pipelines, AI applications, and large language model features while ensuring architectural soundness, quality, security, and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage software engineering teams building scalable, AI-enabled products and platforms.
• Coordinate planning and delivery including roadmap translation, sprint management, release planning, and risk mitigation.
• Guide technical strategy regarding model integration, experimentation, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
• Balance innovation efforts with business priorities, cost controls, and time-to-market considerations.
• Establish delivery metrics, KPIs, and operational cadences to enhance execution predictability and quality.
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to align engineering outcomes with business goals and budget planning.
• Drive Agile methodologies, prioritize backlogs, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and handle escalations.
• Provide leadership in ethical AI practices, data governance, compliance, and quality standards.
• Recruit, coach, and develop engineering talent to build inclusive, high-performing teams.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with leadership experience delivering scalable products, platforms, and AI applications.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning and generative AI concepts including lifecycle management, large language models, deployment challenges, and production risks.
• Experience leading delivery of AI or data-intensive programs with skills in scope alignment, staffing, and milestone tracking.
• Proficient in project and program management, including estimation, roadmap planning, risk and dependency management.
• Proven ability to manage engineers across backend, frontend, data engineering, machine learning, and platform disciplines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, observability, security, and production AI operational readiness.
• Ability to evaluate technical trade-offs such as build vs buy decisions, prioritizing delivery speed versus technical debt, and balancing experimentation against reliability.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
• 8 to 10+ years’ experience in software engineering, system architecture, or related fields with a strong record of complex delivery.
• Experience with SAP technologies or enterprise data, integration, or AI product ecosystems considered advantageous.
