Senior Developer Advocate

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Developer Advocate to join our Builder Relations team, primarily based in Dublin, Ireland with a hybrid working model. In this role, you will promote MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas within modern technology stacks, supporting and empowering builders to integrate these data platforms effectively into their enterprise applications and solutions. You'll collaborate with a global team of Developer Advocates to create content and deliver presentations to educate and inspire builder communities.

Responsibilities

• Gain deep expertise in MongoDB's core database functions and Atlas features including Search and Vector Search.
• Create and deliver high-quality technical content such as tutorials with accompanying code samples, workshops, and videos aimed at educating and engaging builder audiences.
• Host both virtual and in-person sessions to enable up to 400 participants with builder-focused knowledge and skills.
• Establish your authority both inside the company and within broader developer communities as a trusted technical influencer.
• Maintain proficiency in one or more widely-used programming languages linked to our customers to facilitate effective communication and product feedback.
• Advocate for MongoDB tools and technologies, demonstrating their benefits to developer users.
• Engage actively with community members through forums, industry events, and meetups to foster connections and knowledge sharing.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• A solid background in software development with at least five years in technical roles, preferably within enterprise environments.
• Prior experience in advocacy roles or a strong passion for technical education demonstrated through content creation such as tutorials, workshops, conference talks, or videos.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript, one or more languages favored by our customers.
• Strong presentation and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% mainly within the UK and Europe for community events and occasional team meetings.
• Familiarity with MongoDB technologies is a plus but not mandatory.
