Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Developer to join a prominent Auckland-based company investing heavily in enhancing its software engineering capabilities and modernising the application development and delivery processes. This position involves active participation across the complete development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
Technical Environment
The role will involve working in a cutting-edge engineering setting utilizing technologies such as Next.js, Vite, Svelte, Node.js, Tailwind CSS, AWS cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or TOFU. Additionally, there is an increasing emphasis on integrating AI to accelerate software development, enhance quality, and optimize delivery methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage hands-on in the full development lifecycle, from technical design to deployment and maintenance.
- Make informed technical decisions contributing to engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with technical team members and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable applications.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive commercial experience as a senior software developer, preferably with cloud exposure focusing on AWS.
- Proficient in modern JavaScript and TypeScript development.
- Familiarity with contemporary frontend frameworks and backend Node.js development.
- Skilled in working with continuous integration/continuous deployment processes and Infrastructure as Code.
- Interest or experience in AI-augmented software development and modern developer tooling.
- Strong communication skills enabling effective collaboration with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
