Senior Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator who will oversee both relational and NoSQL database systems. This role involves optimizing database performance, managing high availability and replication setups, and supporting development teams to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage both RDBMS and NoSQL database environments effectively.
• Maintain and enhance database performance, scalability, and resilience, including disaster recovery, across bare-metal and virtual machine deployments.
• Implement and administer replication chains, data partitioning or sharding, and backup strategies.
• Support development teams in database design, optimization, and resolving complex issues.
• Conduct troubleshooting to identify and solve problems promptly.
• Lead automation initiatives using tools like Terraform, Puppet, and custom scripts to streamline infrastructure and database lifecycle processes.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of five years' experience as a Database Administrator.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Technology, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in at least one major database system such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of additional relational or NoSQL databases.
• Strong SQL skills covering data definition, manipulation, and control language commands.
• Experience with cloud environments like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficient in Linux operating systems.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical details to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• English proficiency at or above B2 level.

Additional Advantages

• Experience with scripting, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Puppet, Bash, or Python.
• Leadership or team management experience.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
