Senior Data Scientist / Senior AI Engineer

About the Role

Become part of the Emirates Group Analytics Centre of Excellence, where you will contribute to advancing data science, artificial intelligence, and analytics within a leading global aviation and travel company. This senior position offers the opportunity to lead groundbreaking AI and machine learning initiatives aimed at enhancing strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AI projects from initial problem framing to deployment and realization of value.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate strategic challenges into scalable AI and analytics solutions.
• Design and develop state-of-the-art machine learning models, optimization algorithms, and simulations.
• Create AI-powered capabilities using generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agent-based AI technologies.
• Manage experimentation, validate models, and measure performance to assure business impact and automation of decision processes.
• Develop reusable data science tools, frameworks, and production-level AI solutions.
• Work jointly with engineering teams to deploy and maintain AI and machine learning products.
• Mentor junior data scientists and establish best practices within the analytics community.
• Drive innovation by identifying and integrating emerging technologies to maintain competitive advantage.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• MSc or PhD in Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related quantitative discipline.
• 4 to 7+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics, machine learning, optimization, or AI solutions in large-scale, complex organizations.
• Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics techniques.
• Proven background with generative AI, large language models, agentic AI, and emerging AI technologies.
• Hands-on AI engineering skills including model deployment, orchestration frameworks for agentic AI, evaluation and observability frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and scalable AI app development.
• Experience with optimization software frameworks like Gurobi, FICO, or CPLEX.
• Strong programming capabilities in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps best practices.
• Track record deploying production-grade analytics and AI solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, capable of influencing senior leadership.
• Experience mentoring and developing technical teams.
• Business-oriented mindset focused on generating measurable value through AI and analytics.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Development and deployment experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, or Semantic Kernel.
• Knowledge of vector databases, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Expertise in evaluating, monitoring, and governing AI systems in production environments.
• Understanding of cloud-native AI platforms and modern AI engineering methodologies.
