Senior Data Scientist - Pharma Domain

Role Overview

We seek a seasoned Python Machine Learning/AI Engineer with robust expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, and Generative AI technologies. The role involves designing, building, and deploying AI/ML-driven solutions tailored to solve intricate business challenges, with a special emphasis on the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences sectors.

Pharma Domain Experience

Applicants with prior exposure to healthcare-related projects such as clinical research, drug discovery, pharmacovigilance, medical data analytics, or related pharmaceutical use cases will be given preference.

Primary Duties

• Architect and implement Machine Learning and Deep Learning models using Python programming.
• Create Natural Language Processing applications for handling both structured and unstructured textual data.
• Design and deploy Generative AI and Large Language Model solutions suitable for enterprise contexts.
• Perform comprehensive data cleaning, feature extraction, model development, validation, and refinement.
• Develop scalable AI/ML pipelines and enable seamless integration of models into production environments.
• Apply advanced techniques including working with LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation frameworks.
• Continuously assess, tune, and enhance AI/ML models to meet defined technical and business goals.
• Deliver solutions covering text classification, information extraction, semantic search, document intelligence, summarization, and other NLP tasks.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Data Engineers, Software Developers, Product Managers, and domain specialists to deploy production-level AI solutions.
• Monitor ongoing model performance, driving improvements in accuracy, reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Maintain best practices encompassing model development lifecycle, testing, deployment procedures, documentation, and version management.
• Stay abreast of novel advancements in Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, and overall AI/ML landscape.

Required Technical Expertise

• Proficient hands-on experience with Python programming language.
• In-depth knowledge of Machine Learning principles, algorithms, and techniques.
• Solid experience developing Deep Learning models.
• Strong command of Natural Language Processing methodologies.
• Practiced in working with Generative AI and Large Language Models.
• Experience utilizing ML frameworks including PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Good understanding of data preparation, training models, evaluation metrics, and optimization processes.
• Awareness of productionizing AI/ML models and deployment workflows.

Preferred Generative AI Competencies

• Experience using LLMs such as OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, Llama, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Skills in prompt design and evaluation of LLM outputs.
• Knowledge of embeddings and vector database technologies.
• Exposure to frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience crafting AI-driven applications including copilots, chatbots, or automation tools.
