Role Overview

The Senior Data Scientist position requires seasoned expertise in applied data science and optimization at industry scale. This role involves guiding the company's machine learning and optimization technological strategies, as well as executing and iteratively improving these solutions pragmatically.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and internalize the company's business vision and market opportunities.
• Translate business challenges into scientific hypotheses to focus development efforts effectively.
• Analyze vast and complex datasets to improve programmatic efficiency using statistical, analytical, and database skills.
• Design, develop, and implement intricate data-driven solutions including segmentation, data transformation, and feature engineering.
• Communicate research goals, development decisions, and outcomes clearly.
• Participate in the creation and refinement of algorithms focused on automated decision-making in programmatic exchange optimization.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of production-grade performance monitoring frameworks and key performance indicators.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data science or machine learning settings that integrate both statistical and technical competencies.
• Hands-on experience applying data science methods in operational, internet-scale environments emphasizing practical application over theoretical research.
• Strong statistical and research capabilities, particularly with classification, prediction, and time series techniques.
• Proven aptitude in articulating complex data-driven findings to diverse technical teams.
• History of enabling advanced data modeling to inform technology development.
• Experience collaborating across functional teams to deliver pragmatic technology solutions.
• Expertise in applying data science and optimization practices effectively at industry scale, preferably within platform environments.
• Proficient software development skills, particularly in Python with libraries such as pandas, numpy, and SciKit; knowledge of Scala is advantageous.
• Familiarity with digital marketing, advertising, or analytics is beneficial but not mandatory.
