Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Business & Transaction Platform team focuses on crafting scalable machine learning and AI solutions that interpret diverse merchant data, including text, images, and structured inputs, across Grab Food and Grab Mart in Southeast Asia. This role involves developing and enhancing knowledge graph systems by designing and applying advanced ML and NLP methods for entity tagging, taxonomy enrichment, and multilingual entity mapping.

• Construct and refine pipelines for entity recognition and attribute tagging using large language models (LLMs) and various NLP methodologies.
• Develop multilingual entity mapping solutions incorporating embedding models alongside semantic similarity techniques.
• Enhance the taxonomy's accuracy by automating synonym extraction, hierarchical structuring, and eliminating duplicate entities.
• Design and execute data-driven experiments to assess model precision and the business outcomes stemming from these models.
• Partner with product, engineering, and operations teams to seamlessly incorporate ML outputs into platform functionalities.

Candidate Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or closely related disciplines.
• Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in practical applications of NLP, machine learning, or data science.
• Proficient in Python programming, SQL querying, and Spark framework for handling large-scale data.
• Demonstrated expertise in NLP areas such as entity recognition, text classification, use of embeddings, and large language models.
• Prior experience with knowledge graphs, entity resolution, or taxonomy management is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities coupled with clear communication skills for engaging with cross-functional teams.
