Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and upkeeping scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) frameworks. The role requires solid collaboration with various teams to ensure top-notch data quality, scalability, and alignment with both business and technical objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain efficient ETL pipelines to satisfy business, technical, and user expectations.
• Source, refine, and integrate new datasets while maintaining clear documentation and comprehensive data mappings across multiple systems.
• Create scalable and optimized data models aligned with enterprise data architecture standards and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and rigorous quality testing ensuring high reliability of deliverables.
• Initiate continuous enhancements in data quality through optimization, thorough testing, and reviewing solution designs.
• Ensure all data engineering solutions comply with big data architectural principles and long-term strategic plans.
• Implement robust systems for monitoring, logging, and alerts to maintain pipeline dependability and data accuracy.
• Develop reliable data marts using Hadoop ecosystem technologies to support planning, reporting, and analytics.
• Maintain and optimize all data pipelines ensuring accuracy, integrity, and promptness of data delivery.
• Manage code repositories with clear branching strategies and well-documented commits.
• Liaise with stakeholders for smooth deployment to production and adherence to data governance standards.
• Proactively identify and implement process and workflow improvements in data engineering practices.
• Architect complete end-to-end business analytics solutions encompassing data acquisition, contextualization, and integration with business workflows.
• Serve as the business process owner for user onboarding and data products deployment on data platforms supporting dashboards and statistical models.
• Maintain development standards and perform periodic reviews to uphold the performance and sustainability of data pipelines.
• Coordinate and engage in testing with key stakeholders to ensure effective data pipeline and dashboard deployment.
• Monitor existing data pipelines continuously and collaborate for troubleshooting and enhancing performance.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in data engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, with a track record of delivering data-driven business solutions and process improvements.
• Hands-on expertise with big data platforms and tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and cloud data services including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with large datasets using SQL and big data ecosystems is highly preferred.
• Proven background in data engineering, ETL development, and related big data technologies.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to communicate effectively with business users and resolve data analytics issues.
• Detail-oriented team player with the ability to perform well under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills bridging technical and business domains.
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible to support peak workloads and tight deadlines.
