Senior IT Business Analyst

Overview

The Senior IT Business Analyst will serve as the primary subject-matter expert and key intermediary between business stakeholders and the technical team. This role involves collecting and analyzing user requirements related to system improvements while leading a team of business analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with business users to document requirements, workflows, business rules, and constraints.
• Translate these business needs into clear deliverables and documentation that the technical team can use for system development, enhancements, and defect resolution.
• Review proposed technical designs with the team to ensure solutions align with business needs.
• Advise stakeholders on alternatives when direct or complete fulfillment of requirements is not possible.
• Work with project managers, technical teams, and business users to prioritize tasks and outputs.
• Evaluate and contribute to test plans and cases for system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects and routine operational activities.
• Draft, update, and maintain system-related documentation and specifications.
• Conduct health checks and system testing before releasing updates to business users to maintain operational continuity.
• Support daily system operations to ensure smooth functioning.

Qualifications and Skills

• Pursued or hold a degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• Possesses a minimum of six years’ relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated background in business analysis, ideally within insurance or financial sectors.
• Experience with quality control and system testing methodologies.
• Strong abilities in critical thinking and analytical reasoning.
• Excellent oral and written communication coupled with interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, dedicated, and capable of managing responsibilities through to completion.
