Position Overview
As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer within our Cyber Defence Operations Centre (CDOC), you will play a pivotal role managing key security platforms, spearheading security enhancements, and helping to defend against highly advanced cyber threats. Your responsibilities will span a wide variety of tools and settings, focusing on maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical client systems, while raising the standard in security operations and serving as a role model.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain hardware and software to support secure and dependable environments.
- Administer user accounts and access permissions.
- Manage backup and recovery processes.
- Enforce operational and technical security controls aligned with company policies.
- Monitor and analyze threat intelligence feeds, both open-source and proprietary, to detect new threats and vulnerabilities.
- Investigate threat actors, including their tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs), and objectives.
- Lead and coordinate incident response activities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to contain and reduce breach impact.
Candidate Profile
- Three to five years of technical experience in cybersecurity roles; cyber operations experience is preferred.
- A highly motivated and proactive individual capable of independently managing workload.
- Advanced knowledge of attacker methodologies used to compromise organizations.
- Customer-focused approach ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Strong familiarity with networks, firewalls, proxies, and command-line tools across operating systems.
- Experience with system/server diagnostic methods and fault detection techniques.
- Understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
- Knowledge of IT security policies, including account management, password regulations, and access controls.
- Experience with threat intelligence frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK and standards such as STIX/TAXII.
- Preferred experience with leading security platforms and tools, including SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, identity security, and secure access solutions from vendors such as Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, and Splunk.
- Experience or exposure to Intelligence platforms will be positively regarded.
