Senior Cyber Security Architect

Position Overview

Western Power is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Solution Architect to lead the design and assurance of secure, scalable technology solutions. This permanent role, based in Perth, involves collaboration with external service providers to develop technical designs aligned with business objectives, cyber security standards, and the organisation's ICT policies. The role requires architectural leadership throughout project delivery, guiding internal teams and ensuring secure implementation of solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead creation and validation of secure, scalable cyber security solution architectures that meet business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with external vendors to develop high-level and detailed design solutions consistent with cyber security principles, business goals, and ICT standards.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of architectures, technical designs, and implementations for security, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership and ongoing support to developers, engineers, and configuration experts during delivery phases.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address complex cyber security and technology challenges, balancing risk, budgets, and priorities.
• Monitor project progression against approved designs, identify risks proactively, lead remediation efforts, and escalate issues as necessary.
• Contribute to continuous evolution of Western Power's cyber security and enterprise architecture to enhance resilience, reduce risks, and support strategic objectives.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and security best practices fostering collaboration and operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience designing and deploying cyber security architectures within large, complex enterprises involving diverse applications, cloud platforms, and infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of security architecture principles, frameworks, and design patterns, with the ability to balance security concerns with business requirements.
• Established skills in crafting solution architectures that translate business needs into secure, scalable, and practical technology implementations.
• Proven track record working closely with, influencing, and managing external service providers for delivering high-quality architecture and technology projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of technology strategy, enterprise architecture, and service delivery to contribute to long-term cyber security and technology roadmaps.
• Commercially aware and customer-centric with excellent stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, and communication skills to explain complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
