Job description

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned CPU Senior Architecture Engineer to take a leading role in defining the architecture and micro-architecture for advanced out-of-order (OOO) superscalar CPU cores intended for next-generation system-on-chip (SoC) designs. The focus is on optimizing performance while ensuring power and area efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed CPU core specifications to guide design teams and other stakeholders, including conducting necessary design reviews.
  • Work closely with architecture groups, accelerator teams, SoC definers, and software teams to enhance overall CPU system efficiency and performance.
  • Utilize simulators and analytical tools to model workloads and evaluate trade-offs related to power, performance, and design features through various "what-if" scenarios.
  • Collaborate intimately with design and verification teams, supporting power analysis and process decision-making activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Over 7 years of professional experience in out-of-order superscalar CPU design with proven ability to assess micro-architecture trade-offs concerning performance, power consumption, and chip area.
  • Solid understanding of CPU micro-architectures, including memory hierarchy and coherence protocols within multi-core systems.
  • Knowledge of SoC design fundamentals, incorporating accelerators, CPUs, and memory subsystems effectively.
  • Expertise in advanced functional and performance simulation techniques for architectural exploration and workload performance modeling.
  • Additional preferred knowledge areas include RISC-V architecture, integration of closely coupled accelerators, and experience with AI/ML software frameworks and their hardware mapping.

Soft Skills

We seek collaborative professionals who prioritize team outcomes, communicate effectively, engage respectfully with colleagues, and contribute enthusiastically toward delivering unique customer products.

Additional Information

  • Opportunity to join a growing and innovative company committed to employee development and career growth.
  • Flexible work arrangements including hybrid and flexible scheduling options.
