Senior CPU Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior CPU Architect to lead architectural and micro-architectural specification efforts for advanced out-of-order superscalar CPU cores targeted for next-generation System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. The focus is on achieving optimal performance, power efficiency, and minimal area footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed CPU core specifications to guide design teams and stakeholders and participate actively in review processes.
• Work closely with architecture groups to enhance CPU system performance, coordinating with teams managing accelerators, SoC components, and software development.
• Employ simulation tools to model workloads assessing power and performance implications, enabling tradeoff analyses on various feature implementations.
• Collaborate with design teams on implementation, verification, power profiling, and process-related decisions.

Required Expertise

• Seven or more years of hands-on experience in designing out-of-order superscalar CPUs, with strong skills in analyzing micro-architectural trade-offs involving power, performance, and area.
• Sound understanding of CPU micro-architecture, memory hierarchies, and multi-core system coherency.
• Familiarity with SoC design principles including integration of CPUs, accelerators, and memory subsystems.
• Proficiency using advanced functional and performance simulation tools for architectural validation, including modeling complex software workloads.
• Preferably knowledgeable in RISC-V architecture and its hardware/software ecosystem.
• Experience with tightly coupled accelerators is advantageous.
• Awareness of AI/ML software frameworks and their hardware mapping is beneficial.
