Role Overview

The Data Team at Capco partners with clients to transform their data capabilities. This involves crafting strategies, managing data initiatives throughout their lifecycle, and aligning multi-year roadmaps to business objectives. With the increasing importance of quality data amid advancing digital technologies and stricter regulations, the team facilitates efficient data management and consumption using analytics, AI, machine learning, dashboarding, and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce enterprise-wide Data Governance and Data Management frameworks at major financial institutions.
• Define roles such as data ownership and stewardship, establish critical data elements, business glossaries, metadata, lineage, and data quality standards.
• Enhance client capabilities in Data Quality, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, and Data Architecture.
• Create practical governance models, policies, standards, and controls suitable for operational use.
• Support compliance and risk initiatives related to data sovereignty, residency, privacy, and cross-border challenges.
• Collaborate with diverse teams—including business, technology, risk, compliance, and executives—to tackle complex data problems.
• Utilize platforms like Collibra, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, and Ab Initio to increase data transparency and control.
• Participate in wide-ranging data transformation projects preparing data environments for cloud, analytics, and AI adoption.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research or related fields.
• At least 6 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or related enterprise data transformation, preferably in banking, wealth management, insurance, or capital markets.
• Familiarity with frameworks like DCAM, Data Governance Operating Models, Control Frameworks, and Data Lifecycle Management.
• Competence with Data Lineage, Metadata Management, Master Data Management, Data Quality, and Data Architecture techniques.
• Proven ability to engage and manage stakeholders including senior executives, regulators, and cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on experience with Collibra or equivalent enterprise data governance and metadata tools.
• Experience working with Agile or hybrid project delivery methods.
• Strong proficiency in English communication.

Candidates with partial experience in Data Governance or Data Management who are eager to expand their skills in a consulting environment are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Understanding of regulatory and data management frameworks such as DCAM, DAMA/CDMP, BCBS 239, GDPR, PIPL, MAS TRM.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and relevant certifications are advantageous.
