Position Overview
The Senior CNC Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of CNC machine operations, from setup through to the production of precision parts and tools using various materials such as metal and plastic. This role demands strict adherence to engineering specifications and client standards to ensure high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and operate CNC machines including drilling, grinding, and milling processes to produce parts and tools.
- Monitor machinery performance, conduct inspections of finished products, and lead test runs to confirm quality and efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings and translate dimensional requirements into actionable tasks for the CNC team.
- Supervise ongoing machine operation, making necessary adjustments to enhance production outcomes.
- Handle loading and unloading of all raw materials and equipment involved in the manufacturing processes.
- Maintain comprehensive logs documenting machine actions, production data, and quality control records.
- Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of CNC machinery and related equipment.
- Approve and verify finished products align with client specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with established quality and safety protocols throughout all machining activities.
- Address and report any logistical or operational challenges encountered during the manufacturing process.
- Conduct periodic assessments of CNC machines to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a Trade School accreditation, High School diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Holding a certificate or diploma in Engineering is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate high productivity and efficiency in work tasks.
- Exhibit effective team management skills and maintain clear communication within the team and management levels.
- Possess a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a CNC Milling or Turning Machine Operator or CNC Machinist, preferably within Machining or Aerospace manufacturing industries.
- Proven ability to accurately interpret mechanical documents and engineering blueprints.
