Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior CloudOps Engineer with at least six years of experience in roles such as DevOps, CloudOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), focusing on managing infrastructure for large, distributed systems in production environments.
Key Responsibilities and Expertise
- Expertise in AWS multi-account management including Organizations, IAM, VPC, ECS, RDS, Secrets Manager, and cost optimization tools.
- Proficient in container orchestration technologies, primarily ECS with EC2 capacity providers, task lifecycle management, service autoscaling, and/or Kubernetes in production settings.
- Experience with production-grade database management encompassing schema migrations, query performance enhancement, connection handling, and failover strategies in PostgreSQL or other relational and NoSQL databases.
- Designing and sustaining robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions across multiple teams and environments.
- Extensive knowledge of observability tools and stacks such as Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, or OpenSearch, with skills in cost-efficient monitoring solutions.
- Advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation with Terraform or Pulumi focusing on modular architecture, state handling, drift detection, and deployment across multiple accounts.
- Strong development skills in Python (primary) and/or Go for automation and creating internal platforms rather than simple scripting.
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals including DNS, load balancing, security groups, VPN, and troubleshooting connectivity incidents without predefined runbooks.
- Experience adhering to compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 by integrating controls directly into infrastructure.
- Collaborating with engineering leadership to align infrastructure strategies with business goals focusing on uptime, cost efficiency, and deployment speed.
