Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Chiller Technician to join our team based in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting installation, conducting inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and servicing of HVAC and chiller systems. All work must adhere to Carrier’s quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and Environmental, Health & Safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Timely completion of assigned service, maintenance, inspection, and repair duties meeting quality expectations.
• Follow standard operational procedures including work instructions and daily timesheet submissions.
• Carry out thorough inspections to ensure HVAC and chiller equipment operate reliably and efficiently.
• Identify mechanical and electrical faults and propose suitable corrective measures.
• Execute preventive and corrective HVAC maintenance as recommended by industry best practices and manufacturers.
• Replace or repair any faulty components as necessary.
• Adjust and oversee electrical and electronic control systems.
• Perform upkeep tasks such as coil and blower cleaning, motor checks, and belt condition assessments.
• Support troubleshooting and maintenance for DX systems, airside equipment, and various chiller types including reciprocating, screw, and scroll chillers.
• Estimate labor, material, parts, and tools required for jobs.
• Compile detailed and precise inspection reports documenting site conditions, scope, findings, and recommendations.
• Complete all service-related documentation including Job Completion Certificates, Job Cards, EH&S surveys, and maintenance logs.
• Maintain clear communication with customers regarding job progress and findings.
• Report unresolved issues, risks, and suggest improvements to supervisors and customers.
• Ensure the work area is clean, safe, and organized after completing tasks.
• Operate independently when necessary, exercising sound technical judgment without direct oversight.
• Recognize situations needing escalation and promptly request supervisory support.
• Collaborate effectively as a member of an integrated team.
• Identify and control hazards associated with HVAC tasks to guarantee safe work procedures.
• Manage risk proactively during all work activities.
• Handle rigging and lifting setups safely for HVAC equipment and support pump and chiller overhauls.
• Manage tools and machinery including logistics and inventory control.
• Participate actively in EH&S and technical training sessions.
• Utilize computers, mobile devices, and relevant software applications for documentation, communication, and work order management.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or equivalent in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC, or related technical field.
• Between 5 to 8 years of practical experience in HVAC field service and chiller maintenance.
• Possession of a valid Saudi driving license.
• Proficient in English speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong customer focus and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Technical Proficiencies

• Comprehensive understanding of HVAC system maintenance and repair following industry and manufacturer standards.
• Knowledge of safety practices related to installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with safety documentation including Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).
• Skilled in proper handling, use, and upkeep of tools and equipment.
• Competence in preparing inspection and technical reports.
• Understanding quality management aligned with company standards and quality protocols.
• Basic skills in electrical systems and control mechanisms.
• Introductory knowledge of building automation and control systems.
• Basics of metal fabrication, carpentry, and maintenance operations.
• Expertise in safe rigging and lifting techniques specifically for HVAC equipment.
• Basic computer literacy and capability with mobile apps relevant to field service work.

Preferred Equipment Experience

• Practical experience with DX and airside equipment.
• Hands-on knowledge of reciprocating chillers.
• Experience servicing screw chillers.
• Familiarity with scroll chillers maintenance and repair.
