Senior Business Analyst - Process Excellence

Overview

The Market Transformation & Enablement (MTE) team is dedicated to driving transformational change and efficiency improvements across market access, personnel, processes, and systems aligned to commercial and operational priorities. It oversees the formulation and prioritization of the QatarEnergy Trading (QET) Strategic Roadmap, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives, while managing operational change to safeguard QET's licence to operate through structured change management protocols.

Role Summary

The Senior Analyst (Process Excellence) will serve as a leading change management expert supporting both strategic and operational initiatives throughout the Trade Lifecycle, spanning from pre-deal activities to settlements. This role focuses on promoting the Target Operating Model (TOM), continually enhancing processes, and ensuring timely adoption across the enterprise.

Key Experience and Skills

• At least 8 years of working experience in commodities trading environments involving international oil companies (IOCs), trading houses, national oil companies (NOCs), or vendor organizations, preferably with exposure to LNG operations.
• Deep practical expertise in process management, including the creation of detailed data and operational process maps.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Front to Back Trade Lifecycle, with specialization in areas such as Physical Trading, Cargo Growth, or Portfolio Optimisation.
• Familiarity with trading and operational software like Planlogic’s EOS, Veson Nautical's IMOS, and SAP is beneficial; knowledge of Openlink, Allegro, or Salesforce platforms is also valued.
• Cross-functional understanding spanning commodities trading, shipping logistics, and financial operations.
• Strong enthusiasm for leveraging technology and process improvements to enhance commodities trading.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities along with strong presentation and stakeholder influence skills.
• Experience or knowledge of agile methodologies, as well as project management certifications such as PMP or Prince2, is an asset.

Educational Background

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a numerate, finance, or technology-related discipline from an internationally accredited university is required. Advanced qualifications such as MSc, PhD, or MBA are advantageous.
