Senior Biomedical Engineer

Your Mission

• Manage daily workshop activities in New Zealand, including equipment intake, prioritizing tasks, and organizing the workspace efficiently.
• Maintain precise and current service records, job tracking, and work orders via SAP and KARL STORZ Quality Management System, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
• Inspect, test, and repair demonstration and loan equipment to fulfill sales and customer team requirements.
• Take a strategic approach to asset lifecycle management, identifying aging devices, planning maintenance or replacement, and aligning with customer service commitments.
• Perform safety and performance tests on KARL STORZ equipment complying with regulatory standards like ANZ 3551 and internal policies.
• Provide preventative maintenance and reactive repairs for New Zealand clients to ensure equipment reliability.
• Independently diagnose and solve complex technical problems, escalating issues as needed for swift resolution.
• Install and validate software updates, manage system integrations, and troubleshoot to enhance equipment operation.
• Ensure full compliance with Medsafe, TGA regulations, and New Zealand health and safety laws.
• Consistently adhere to KARL STORZ quality standards and Quality Management System protocols.
• Apply thorough knowledge of hospital and surgical environments and standards including AS/NZS 3551 and AS/NZS 3200.
• Possess working knowledge of ISO 13485 and its implementation in medical device servicing and quality processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to customer service excellence, documentation, and quality standards under guidance from the Biomedical Technology Manager.

Your Talents

• Between five and ten years of experience in biomedical field engineering or medical device service roles.
• Certified with EWRB registration (EST/Electrician) with MCPA endorsement or willing to obtain this certification.
• Holds a degree or diploma in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical fields.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, and servicing of capital medical equipment.
• Possession of a full and valid New Zealand driver’s license.
• Authorized to work legally within New Zealand.
