Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Riyadh team. This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute both independently and collaboratively, driving key strategic initiatives and impacting millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in architectural decisions for a platform serving millions of customers.
• Contribute actively to migrating the existing monolithic application toward a microservices architecture.
• Design, enhance, and secure backend systems to support rapid scaling across users and product offerings.
• Work with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes on the Google Cloud Platform.
• Mentor and coach team members as a senior member within the Backend Chapter.
• Adhere to Design Driven Development, SOLID principles, event-driven architecture, algorithms, and maintain high-quality automated testing (unit, integration, functional).
• Understand the software development lifecycle and collaborate effectively with cross-functional agile teams.
• Contribute continuously to improving test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
• Regularly perform code reviews, debugging, and investigation to uphold code quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of backend development experience in GoLang, Ruby on Rails, Java, or Python.
• Strong expertise in database systems including PostgreSQL and NoSQL, with solid knowledge of normalization, ACID compliance, isolation levels, indexing techniques, query optimization, and caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached.
• Proficient in using monitoring, alerting, and logging tools like Grafana.
• In-depth understanding of software architecture disciplines such as Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Experience with migrating monolithic systems to microservices.
• Committed to thorough testing practices including unit and integration tests to ensure quality and stability.
• Flexible and skilled at problem-solving in dynamic and ambiguous work conditions.
