Senior Associate, Securities Exchange Operations Clearing House

About the Role

We invite applications from analytical and meticulous professionals to join our Securities Exchange Operations team. This position provides a distinctive opportunity to develop comprehensive insights into the workings of a leading securities exchange and to play a key role in supporting the capital markets ecosystem in Singapore.

The successful candidate will bring a solid grasp of the Singapore securities market, encompassing equities trading, clearing and settlement processes, market structure, listed products, and post-listing procedures. Previous experience in exchanges, brokerages, market infrastructure providers, banks or within capital markets operations will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily exchange operations accurately and punctually across functions such as listings and trading operations, clearing and settlement functions, new product launches, and market preparation activities.
• Provide support and services for issuers and members.
• Oversee operational processes, flagging exceptions, risks, or issues for escalation and resolution.
• Deliver operational support during market incidents, new initiatives, and production events within a 24-hour operating framework.
• Identify and propose improvements that enhance process efficiency, automate workflows, and reduce operational risks.
• Lead projects and initiatives aimed at developing securities products and platforms.
• Establish and sustain robust working relationships with trading and clearing members, issuers, vendors, banks, and other market participants.
• Act as a reliable operational liaison for stakeholders, responding promptly to market-related inquiries.
• Assist team managers and supervisors in fostering an effective and collaborative team environment dedicated to SGX's success.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• A degree holder with 1 to 4 years of experience in securities market operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Singapore securities market including trading practices, bank operations, listings, trade lifecycle workflows, exchange regulations, market data services, and clearing and settlement processes.
• Exposure to exchange systems, trading platforms, market data services, or brokerage systems is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with adeptness at resolving complex operational challenges.
• Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and navigate ambiguity effectively.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a dedication to operational precision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying intricate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Effective in managing stakeholder relationships and fostering collaboration.
• A motivated, proactive team player with a results-driven approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Familiarity with AI technologies, SQL, VBA, Python, Power BI, or automation tools is beneficial.
