Role Overview

This position provides a unique opportunity to lead complex architectural projects while staying actively involved in the hands-on technical aspects of design, documentation, problem-solving, and coordination. You will be responsible for guiding projects through every phase, liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and team members to ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural projects from initial concept through to completion with autonomy and ownership.
• Collaborate closely with clients, consultant teams, contractors, and internal staff to achieve project goals.
• Maintain involvement in technical delivery, including detailing, documentation, and resolution of design issues.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the growth and development of the Christchurch studio.
• Support the overall growth and culture of the architectural practice by contributing to studio initiatives.

Requirements

• Substantial experience as an architect with a proven track record of project leadership across all phases.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Revit software.
• Strong competencies in technical design, detailing, and comprehensive documentation.
• Effective stakeholder management and ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Experience leading consultant teams and coordinating complex project deliveries successfully.
• Excellent communication skills paired with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
• Experience mentoring and nurturing junior team members.
• Practical, solution-oriented mindset focused on architecture and project execution.
• Prior healthcare project experience is highly valued, though expertise in large-scale complex projects across various sectors is also welcomed.
