Senior Ansible Engineer

Job Overview and Responsibilities

This role involves the development and management of structured, reusable automation components using Ansible Collections. The candidate will configure job templates, workflows, RBAC, and credentials in AWX / Ansible Tower (AAP), integrating Ansible into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps. They will also secure secrets with Vault Tools like Ansible Vault and HashiCorp Vault, and automate resources across cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, and Kubernetes.

Key duties include building and maintaining Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching, and deployments. The engineer will leverage the Ansible Automation Platform for job orchestration and integrate Ansible with ServiceNow, Splunk, Terraform, and CI/CD systems. They will design reusable, scalable automation frameworks and ensure automation workflows are optimized for performance, including troubleshooting and debugging tasks. Emphasis will be placed on best practices such as idempotency, proper error handling, tagging, and version control management. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to uncover new automation opportunities, along with creating documentation, runbooks, and conducting knowledge transfer sessions, forms part of the role.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven hands-on experience with Ansible automation tools.
• Strong familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration.
• Proficiency with YAML and Jinja2 for templating, as well as Git for version control.
• Understanding of REST API interactions and integration methods.
• Experience working with CI/CD platforms like Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Basic scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
