Job description

About Tracksuit

Tracksuit is a rapidly expanding startup headquartered in Australasia, partnering with over 1,000 brands across New Zealand, Australia, the US, and the UK. Our mission is to create a universal language for brand understanding through innovative and user-friendly brand tracking solutions powered by tens of thousands of surveys each month.

Role Overview

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be integral to shaping and maintaining the analytics platform that supports our Product, Finance, and GTM (Go-To-Market) teams worldwide. Working in close collaboration with Data Engineers, Analysts, Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Operations personnel, you will influence internal data strategies and ensure data quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Finance, GTM, and Product teams to identify key business decisions and build impactful analytics solutions to support them.
  • Communicate modeling outcomes in clear, accessible language emphasizing actionable insights over complex details.
  • Ensure the highest standards of data quality, accuracy, and dependability across the analytics platform.
  • Manage and scale the core analytics infrastructure using Snowflake and dbt, including integrations with HubSpot, Subskribe, and product databases.
  • Develop self-service data products that empower business units to independently obtain insights, reducing ad hoc requests.
  • Adapt and respond dynamically to varied tasks, from deep analytical modeling to pipeline troubleshooting and mentoring juniors, reflecting the demands of a fast-growing scale-up.

Candidate Profile

  • Experienced in influencing senior stakeholders, capable of translating complex data concepts into meaningful impact without jargon.
  • Focused on outcome and business impact rather than mere production output.
  • Exhibits humility by sharing early drafts, collaborating generously, and prioritizing accuracy over personal credit.
  • Values simplicity, favoring straightforward, reliable models over unnecessarily complex ones.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities typical in fast-paced scale-ups, willingly handling unglamorous tasks as needed.
  • Possesses 7+ years of experience in data roles, with strong expertise in SQL, dbt, Snowflake, data modeling, and end-to-end ELT pipeline ownership.
  • Integrates AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot into daily workflows with critical judgment to verify outputs.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in modeling Finance or GTM data, including revenue, retention, and pipeline metrics.
  • Previous engagement within B2B SaaS startups or scale-ups.
  • Background in developing or contributing to semantic or metrics layers.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related analytical field, or equivalent practical expertise.

Additional Information

The position can be based in our Auckland or Sydney offices. Tracksuit emphasizes diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants who bring diverse perspectives and experiences. AI tools may assist in application processing, but final hiring decisions are human made. The company prioritizes fair compensation and transparent career progression, supported by best-in-class benefits and an ESOP program.

Company Perks

  • Competitive, market-aligned salaries with transparent compensation frameworks.
  • Equity participation through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
  • Comprehensive wellbeing benefits including six weeks of paid leave, an annual wellness bonus, and access to elite Employee Assistance Programs.
  • Parental leave policies offering 12 weeks paid leave for all parents, additional IVF support, and phased return-to-work options.
  • A dedicated learning and development budget of $1,000 annually plus internal growth opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements balanced with office-centric collaboration in hubs located in Auckland, New York City, London, and Sydney.
  • A pet-friendly workplace culture welcoming occasional animal visitors.
  • Recognition through various awards highlighting the company’s excellence as an employer and industry leader.
