The Singapore AI Center of Excellence (COE) functions as a specialized engineering and research hub dedicated to advancing Enterprise and Sovereign AI. It focuses on facilitating the seamless production adoption of AI workflows by developing reusable software architectures that address common industry challenges and contributing code to open-source projects to fill gaps in enterprise deployment, runtime tuning, and platform management.

Role Overview

We seek a Senior AI/ML Architect to serve as a consultative technical authority bridging Enterprise AI with client infrastructure design. Positioned within the Customer Engineering division, you will create scalable, production-ready architectural blueprints and lead technical scoping sessions with strategic clients and technology partners. Your goal is to remove both technical and organizational barriers, positioning modern Kubernetes container platforms as the preferred infrastructure for high-scale applications and AI workloads.

This role prioritizes technical expertise, architectural insight, and autonomous solution delivery in ambiguous settings. Growth is linked to your impact through engineering design and mentorship of AI/ML colleagues without responsibilities for team management or administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, reusable system architecture blueprints emphasizing enterprise needs such as security hardening, optimized compute/network/storage, multi-tier IT integration, and system scalability.
• Lead technical workshops and customer engagements, conducting deep-dives with tailored PoCs and architecture walkthroughs to demonstrate feasibility before full implementation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to regional engineering groups and executives by translating sophisticated AI/ML requirements into actionable business results.
• Partner with external technology vendors and system integrators to engineer and validate joint architecture solutions.
• Serve as a crucial feedback conduit between APAC markets and product teams to shape global development roadmaps through customer input.
• Take ownership of complex enterprise projects, advising senior leadership on platform maturity models, adoption roadmaps, and compliance considerations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Track record of leading enterprise-level technical consulting, system design, or pre-sales architecture engagements.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders.
• Proven expertise in designing and managing enterprise Kubernetes or containerized platforms, including multi-tenant clusters, container networking, and persistent storage strategies.
• Strong software development and automation capabilities, including proficiency in Python and tools such as Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Experience operating AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Jupyter) on container platforms.

Additional Expertise Areas

• Hands-on experience with MLOps solutions, including model serving (vLLM, KServe, Ray), workflow orchestration (MLflow, Kubeflow), model registries, and dataset preparation.
• Competence with GitOps deployment workflows (ArgoCD, Flux) and container observability/telemetry tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of infrastructure modernization techniques: virtualization, bare-metal orchestration, GPU clustering, and associated high-performance network topologies.
• Design of secure, regulated deployments involving isolated container networks, identity management, and compliance with data privacy standards.
• Familiarity with system programming languages such as Go, Java, or Rust for building cloud-native integration tools and platform operators.

Industry Domains (Preferred)

• Financial Services: Experience addressing risk management, fraud detection patterns, data sovereignty, and compliance frameworks.
• Public Sector & Healthcare: Background in securing sensitive or anonymized datasets and adhering to strict governmental compliance requirements.
• Telecommunications & Manufacturing: Expertise in edge AI deployments, real-time streaming, and low-latency architectures.
