Job description

Company Overview

Ubisoft is a global leader in the gaming industry, creating iconic titles such as Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow Six, and Just Dance. The company thrives on diverse perspectives that enrich both the player experience and team dynamics. They invite creative and innovative individuals to contribute to expanding the boundaries of entertainment.

Job Summary

This role is part of a compact, empowered team dedicated to developing an ambitious multiplayer game using Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with a strong sense of ownership and execution, committed to collaboratively building a high-quality product.

Role Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and sustain core Unreal Engine systems focusing on stability, scalability, and performance, supporting a continuous, production-ready environment.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance rendering and frame performance by conducting GPU and CPU analysis, optimizing budgets, improving pipelines, and implementing tools such as profiling, regression testing, and benchmarking to maintain ongoing quality.
  • Manage full lifecycle technical solutions including design, coding, integration, review, and reinforcement with an emphasis on production stability, performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams — Gameplay, Technical Art, Visual Effects, Level Art, Tools, and Build — to ensure engine-level choices (rendering, streaming, LODs) facilitate rapid content delivery without sacrificing performance, while maintaining efficient Unreal Engine workflows for a small, autonomous team.
  • Demonstrate leadership through continuous coding, deep debugging, constructive critique of technical methods, documenting decision logic, and elevating team standards using best practices, design patterns, and technical debt management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • At least 7 years of professional programming experience, preferably within the video game industry.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to liaise effectively with various disciplines and support the team in visual fidelity and performance improvements.
  • Proficient knowledge of HLSL shader programming and DirectX APIs.
  • Advanced proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Experience in video game console development and performance tuning specific to console hardware.
  • A robust passion and aptitude for mathematics including algebra, geometry, and calculus.
  • A creative mindset with a strong desire to innovate within the field.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous involvement in teams that have successfully shipped a complete video game project.
