Position Overview

The role of Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada provides an excellent chance to develop expertise in retail services and customer interaction. Key Duties

• Maintain the self-checkout area clean, safe, and well-organized, keeping it free from clutter, debris, spills, or other hazards.
• Promote Walmart’s company initiatives such as credit card offers, product protection plans, and charitable programs as appropriate.
• Assist customers confidently with self-checkout usage, monitor the area, perform necessary checks, explain interventions in a courteous manner, and escalate cash or technical issues to management.
• Respond promptly to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately complete related documentation for "Failure to Deactivate" logs.
• Ensure Scan & Go devices are returned to their designated storage spots after usage.
• Adapt to various shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational needs.
• Effectively handle a high volume of tasks with efficiency during fast-paced shifts, including overnight hours, while maintaining energy and focus.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as standing for long durations, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs., alongside repetitive stocking and organizing duties.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $18.40.
