Security Officer - Retail

Overview

We are looking to hire a vigilant Security Officer dedicated to ensuring the safety of customers, staff, and assets at our retail location. The ideal candidate will actively patrol, monitor activities, thwart theft, manage incidents, and uphold all company safety guidelines within the store environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct routine patrols of the retail premises to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized behavior.
• Observe patrons and employees vigilantly to identify any suspicious or shoplifting activities.
• Perform bag inspections and control entry when necessary to maintain security.
• React swiftly to alarms, incidents, disturbances, or emergencies to maintain order.
• Document incidents thoroughly with detailed reports on daily activities and security events.
• Support crowd management efforts during busy periods, sales promotions, or special events.
• Ensure emergency exits and fire safety equipment are unobstructed and functional at all times.
• Collaborate closely with store leadership and local law enforcement agencies as needed.
• Maintain a professional security presence while delivering excellent customer service.
• Apply and enforce all company safety protocols and guidelines consistently.

Requirements

• Completion of secondary education or its equivalent.
• Prior experience in security roles, particularly in retail, malls, or customer-facing settings, is advantageous.
• Possession of a current security license or certification if mandated by local laws.
• Physical stamina to stand or walk for prolonged durations during shifts.
• Strong observational abilities paired with effective communication skills.
• Capacity to remain composed and professional in emergency situations.
• Fundamental skills in report writing and maintaining incident records.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and public holidays.
