Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you will be entrusted with safeguarding hotel premises by ensuring the security of guests, visitors, and staff at all times. Your duties will include:

• Maintaining a professional and visible security presence throughout the hotel and adjacent areas.
• Performing regular patrols across guest areas, back-of-house zones, staff facilities, entrances, parking lots, and other key locations.
• Controlling access points to guarantee only authorized personnel can enter restricted locations.
• Monitoring CCTV and other security technologies aligned with hotel protocols.
• Responding swiftly and professionally to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and concerns raised by guests or colleagues.
• Generating accurate incident documentation and managing appropriate security logs.
• Assisting in handling matters related to lost property, suspicious behavior, disturbances, or other security issues.
• Providing support for incident investigations and supplying relevant data to the security leadership team.
• Securing handling and control of hotel keys, access cards, equipment, and other sensitive security items.
• Overseeing contractor, supplier, and visitor access in accordance with established guidelines.
• Facilitating safe guest and staff movement during emergencies or evacuations.
• Assisting with emergency response actions, including fire and medical incidents when necessary.
• Staying alert to hotel events, VIP activities, and situations requiring heightened security vigilance.
• Collaborating professionally with local law enforcement and emergency services as directed by management.
• Ensuring adherence to hotel security policies, IHG standards, and relevant local laws.
• Maintaining confidentiality concerning guest, employee, and hotel information.
• Providing courteous and professional assistance to guests while balancing stringent security measures.
• Supporting other departments to contribute to overall safety and efficient hotel operations.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in hotel security, hospitality security, corporate security, law enforcement, military, or equivalent sectors is preferred.
• Exposure to luxury or five-star hotel environments will be considered an advantage.
• Strong powers of observation and acute situational awareness.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with guests and colleagues.
• Professional demeanor, conduct, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Calmness under pressure and capability to make sound decisions in emergencies or difficult scenarios.
• Sound knowledge of security protocols, safety measures, and emergency response procedures.
• Capability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals including guests, staff, contractors, and authorities.
• Physical fitness to conduct frequent patrols and remain active during shifts.
• Basic computer proficiency for accurate completion of security reports.
• Good command of the English language; knowledge of additional languages is beneficial.
