Location Overview

Situated on the tranquil east coast of Mauritius near an idyllic lagoon, our resort offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush gardens and mesmerizing ocean views. The property features 90 one-bedroom villas, a presidential suite, numerous residential villas, several dining venues including a beach bar and restaurant, a top-tier spa, tennis courts, and a fitness center. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy nearby golf courses designed by renowned players and various water sports.

Role Summary

The Security Officer is responsible for managing access control and ensuring the protection of the resort's assets, personnel, and guests. This requires vigilance in patrolling the property, investigating incidents, and executing safety procedures to maintain a secure environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage actively in daily security operations to safeguard individuals and property onsite.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols, addressing any suspicious activities or persons encountered.
• Document all accidents, security breaches, or other relevant incidents meticulously and objectively.
• Enforce all security and safety policies, assisting in preventive safety programs implementation.
• Support hotel staff in managing emergencies such as theft, fire hazards, medical incidents, civil disturbances, and more.
• Remain informed of local laws pertinent to hospitality security and ensure compliance.
• Participate in the hotel’s emergency response plans including fire safety procedures and training.
• Operate and manage key, lock, alarm, CCTV, and fire protection systems effectively.
• Conduct safety inspections and provide professional VIP escorts when required.
• Coordinate with external agencies such as the fire department as necessary.
• Undertake additional assignments from management as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proficiency in English reading, writing, and communication.
• Certified in CPR, first aid, and firefighting techniques.
• Previous employment in law enforcement or security roles is preferred.
• Computer skills, including familiarity with WordPerfect 7 and Lotus 123.
• Possession of a valid SIA license is required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Carry out life-saving tasks such as administering CPR and assisting injured individuals.
• Assist with manual tasks including transporting heavy supplies when needed.
• Maintain clear and effective communication within the security department and with other hotel departments.
• Report any safety hazards or equipment issues promptly and participate in health and safety training to uphold workplace safety standards.
• Adhere strictly to established conduct, grooming, and uniform standards while performing duties professionally at all times.

Health and Safety Compliance

• Ensure the workplace remains safe by identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Monitor adherence to government hygiene and safety regulations.
• Be fully knowledgeable of hotel fire and bomb procedures, health and safety policies, food hygiene regulations, and COSHH guidelines.
• Participate in regular statutory fire, health, and safety training interventions to maintain competence.
