Position Overview
We are searching for an experienced Senior Security Engineer to strengthen the safety of our cloud and platform infrastructure. This role entails collaborating closely with engineering teams to develop, assess, and maintain security measures utilizing Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and custom-built security solutions developed in Go and TypeScript.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and manage secure cloud deployments on AWS and GCP platforms using Terraform.
- Implement and oversee security tools within Kubernetes environments, including both internal and external solutions.
- Employ GitOps methodology by leveraging tools such as Argo CD, Flux, and Helm charts for deployment and security workflows.
- Create automated security tools and services using programming languages Go and TypeScript.
- Identify and remedy cloud misconfigurations proactively to prevent security lapses.
- Advise engineering teams on secure cloud architecture designs and best practices.
- Develop and refine cloud-native threat detection systems and alert pipelines for monitoring suspicious behaviors within cloud and container workloads.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in security engineering, focusing on cloud or platform security.
- Proficiency in securing production-grade workloads on AWS and GCP.
- Expertise in designing and defending Infrastructure as Code approaches utilizing Terraform.
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes security practices, including troubleshooting Helm-based deployments and GitOps workflows.
- Strong coding abilities in Go and TypeScript; Python for automation when necessary.
- Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Mandatory certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
- Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Security Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, and HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
- Desirable experience with Policy-as-Code tools like Open Policy Agent (OPA) and securing service mesh infrastructures such as Istio.
- Background in software or platform engineering prior to specializing in security is advantageous.
