Job Overview

The Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons aligned with the academic objectives. They will prepare class materials, maintain student records, and design assessments. The role includes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support students' academic and behavioral needs and participation in school activities and meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans in advance and share them with relevant academic coordinators.
  • Organize educational materials for classroom sessions.
  • Achieve the goals outlined in the annual academic plans.
  • Keep the grade book current, entering grades promptly after evaluation periods and semesters.
  • Create monthly topic-based assessments and evaluate all assigned student work.
  • Decorate classrooms to foster a stimulating learning environment related to lessons, events, and holidays.
  • Perform playground supervision duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with the Psychology Department to address academic and behavioral challenges, supporting students with special needs, including gifted learners.
  • Participate in meetings with peers, coordinators, assistant principals, and engage in professional workshops.
  • Attend parent meetings and contribute to special school events.
  • Maintain punctuality and adhere to prescribed work schedules tailored for different grade levels.
  • Mediate student conflicts and interact with psychologists regarding students’ emotional or familial difficulties.
  • Organize community service and fundraising initiatives in partnership with the Psychology Department.
  • Assist and coordinate student involvement in fairs and other extracurricular activities.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians to invite them to meetings or special school functions when required.
  • Record daily attendance through the appropriate system or submission forms.
  • Compile subject-specific assignments for portfolios following evaluation criteria.
  • Assign homework monitoring responsibilities to students and supervise the Homework Board biweekly.
  • Promote student engagement through subcommittee participation to enhance teamwork and school activities.
  • Foster transparent communication between students and parents.
  • Encourage parent and guardian attendance at school meetings and parent-teacher association events.
  • Consider students’ unique learning and socio-emotional requirements and refer cases to the Psychology Department as needed.
  • Comply with institutional dress code and policies.
  • Perform additional duties related to teaching assignments as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related discipline is required.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in education is mandatory.
  • Proficient use of digital teaching tools and intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications.
