Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated French Teacher to join our educational team in Doha, Qatar. This role involves careful lesson planning, student assessment, and collaboration with various departments to support students' academic and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans ahead of time and communicate them to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator via email.
- Prepare and organize all teaching materials required for classes.
- Ensure all academic goals detailed in the general annual plans are achieved.
- Maintain and update the grade book punctually, entering grades by evaluation deadlines and semester ends.
- Create and administer monthly evaluations for all topics taught.
- Assess and grade all assigned student work.
- Enhance the classroom environment with relevant educational and festive decorations.
- Carry out assigned playground supervision responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with the Psychology Department to assist students experiencing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Coordinate efforts with the Academic Coordinator and psychologist to support students with special needs, including gifted learners.
- Attend regular meetings with teaching staff, academic coordinators, and assistant principals.
- Participate actively in institutional workshops, parent meetings, and special school events.
- Adhere to the school's work schedule, noting that departure times vary by student grade level.
- Serve as a mediator for student conflicts, informing the psychologist as necessary, and refer students dealing with emotional, personal, or family difficulties.
- Work with the psychologist to organize community service and fundraising projects.
- Assist or manage student involvement in fairs and other extra-curricular activities.
- Contact parents or guardians to invite them to meetings or special events when required.
- Keep accurate daily attendance records through the system or submit required forms to the Academic Support Department.
- Compile subject-specific assignments for student portfolios following level criteria each evaluation period.
- Assign students to manage homework recording and supervise the Homework Board biweekly to ensure proper use.
- Encourage student engagement in subcommittees to promote collaboration and school involvement.
- Maintain open lines of communication with both students and parents.
- Motivate parents/guardians to attend ISP CBNH and PTA meetings.
- Account for students' special learning and socio-emotional needs and refer them appropriately to the Psychology Department.
- Comply with institutional policies regarding professional attire and school uniform.
- Perform other relevant duties associated with the role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related disciplines is required.
- A Master's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in the education field.
