Job Overview
This position involves delivering Geography education aligned with curriculum standards and collaborating with various school departments to support student development and school activities. The teacher will plan lessons, manage assessments, maintain records, and foster communication with students, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans ahead of time and submit them via email to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
- Collect and arrange all necessary teaching materials for classes.
- Meet the educational objectives set out in the general curriculum plans distributed annually.
- Maintain accurate and current grade books, entering grades at the completion of each evaluation period and semester within deadlines.
- Create and administer monthly assessments for each topic covered.
- Evaluate all assigned student work promptly.
- Decorate the classroom with relevant lesson, activity, and holiday materials to enhance the learning environment.
- Supervise playground activities as assigned.
- Work in coordination with the Psychology Department to assist students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Support students with special needs and gifted learners in collaboration with the Academic Coordinator and psychologists.
- Participate in meetings with faculty, academic coordinators, and assistant principals.
- Attend workshops organized by the institution for professional development.
- Engage in parent meetings and participate in special school events.
- Adhere to the designated work schedule, which varies by grade level regarding departure time.
- Act as an intermediary between students and the psychologist to resolve conflicts and address emotional, personal, or family difficulties.
- Collaborate on planning community service initiatives and fundraising projects with the psychologist.
- Facilitate and organize student involvement in fairs and extracurricular activities.
- Communicate with parents or guardians to invite them to meetings or special events as necessary.
- Record daily student attendance in the system or provide forms to the Academic Support Department.
- Gather subject-specific assignments for portfolio compilation following level criteria each evaluation period.
- Designate a student to monitor homework records and maintain the Homework Board’s proper use biweekly.
- Encourage active student participation in subcommittees aimed at fostering teamwork and enhancing school activities.
- Promote transparent communication channels with both students and parents.
- Urge parents or guardians to participate in meetings organized by ISP CBNH and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
- Consider special learning requirements and socio-emotional needs of students, making referrals to the Psychology Department when appropriate.
- Comply with institutional dress code and uniform policies during school attendance.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned within the role.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related disciplines is required.
- A master's degree is preferred, enhancing candidacy.
- Proficiency in digital educational tools, with intermediate Microsoft Office capabilities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills at advanced levels (Level 4).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Capacity to manage pressures effectively with excellent communication and strategic thinking competencies.
- Fluency in English, advanced across speaking, reading, and writing domains.
- A minimum of two years of experience in an educational setting is mandatory.
