Job Overview
Join Teacheroo as a Maths Teacher based in Doha, Qatar, focusing on delivering planned lessons, assessing students, and supporting academic and behavioral development in collaboration with relevant departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans in advance and submit them via email to the Head of Level and Academic Coordinator.
- Prepare and organize all teaching materials required for classes.
- Meet objectives set out in the annual general lesson plans.
- Maintain an up-to-date grade book, recording grades punctually at the end of each assessment period and semester.
- Create monthly assessments tailored to each lesson topic and grade all assigned student work.
- Keep the classroom environment engaging by decorating it with relevant materials corresponding to lessons, activities, and holidays.
- Carry out playground supervision duties as assigned.
- Work closely with the Psychology Department to assist students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with the Academic Coordinator and psychologist to support students with special needs, including gifted learners.
- Participate in meetings with fellow teachers, academic coordinators, and assistant principals, as well as in institutional workshops.
- Engage in parent meetings and school events to foster community involvement.
- Adhere to the prescribed work schedule, noting that departure times vary by grade level.
- Serve as a mediator for student conflicts and inform the psychologist of any emotional, personal, or family issues among students.
- Coordinate with the psychologist to organize community service and fundraising activities.
- Support student participation in fairs and extra-curricular activities.
- Contact parents or guardians to invite them to meetings or special occasions as needed.
- Record daily attendance electronically or submit attendance records to the Academic Support Department.
- Collect assignments to compile portfolios based on level criteria each evaluation period.
- Assign students to manage homework tracking and ensure proper use of the Homework Board biweekly.
- Promote student involvement in subcommittees to encourage teamwork and participation in school activities.
- Maintain open communication channels with students and parents, encouraging engagement with ISP CBNH and PTA meetings.
- Consider and refer students' special learning and socio-emotional needs to the Psychology Department.
- Uphold institutional standards by attending school in the proper uniform and following policies.
- Perform additional duties relevant to the teaching role as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related fields is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in digital tools and intermediate competency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities (Level 4).
- Leadership skills at Level 3 and excellent analytical abilities (Level 4).
- Ability to perform well under pressure (Level 4).
- Advanced communication skills, with fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing.
- Strategic thinking skills (Level 4).
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in education.
