Overview

Join our dedicated team at Glebedale School in Stoke-on-Trent as a School Maintenance Worker, where your efforts ensure a safe, welcoming environment enabling children and vulnerable adults to learn and thrive. This permanent role offers a full-time schedule of 37 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, covering various shifts, with a competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience. The position starts in October 2026 and requires applicants to be UK residents without visa sponsorship available.

Key Duties

• Conduct regular maintenance duties around the school, including scheduled inspections and minor repairs.
• Promptly address faults and urgent repair needs to maintain safety and functionality of facilities.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of buildings and grounds.
• Prepare rooms and facilities for daily school activities and events.
• Follow site procedures for logging, reporting, and prioritizing maintenance tasks.
• Comply strictly with health and safety guidelines and safe working practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure maintenance requirements are effectively communicated and managed.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities management, or related practical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical mindset toward repairs.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe operational procedures.
• Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• Clear communication skills and a positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Motivation to learn and improve maintenance skills over time.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence is mandatory.
