School Janitorial Cleaner - Tuskegee

Job Overview

We seek a dependable and experienced custodian to undertake cleaning responsibilities within a K-12 school or post-secondary campus environment in Tuskegee, AL. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various school facilities.

Core Duties

• Perform cleaning and upkeep of assigned spaces such as classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and staircases
• Sweep, mop, clear debris and spills in designated areas to ensure cleanliness
• Regularly empty trash bins across all assigned locations
• Handle chemical cleaning agents and power equipment cautiously to avoid damage to surfaces and fixtures
• Report to supervisors regarding necessary repairs or additions to building systems
• Foster effective communication with clients, colleagues, and management
• Collect and segregate recyclables correctly
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, doors, window sills, floors, ceilings, and walls
• Polish hard surfaces including woodwork and stainless steel
• Sanitize tables, chairs, and equipment in dining areas
• Relocate furniture and equipment manually or by using hand trucks to facilitate cleaning
• Clean interior glass elements like windows, partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning agents and tools
• Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping walkways, raking leaves, lawn cutting, and snow removal
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish fixtures as needed
• Adhere to all safety, security, and quality protocols set by the company and regulatory bodies

Qualifications

Basic requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided
• No educational credential such as high school diploma or GED required

Preferred experience:

• Previous customer service exposure
• At least one year of similar cleaning experience
