Overview
This is a permanent, full-time position based at any main NZ Transport Agency office across New Zealand. The role centers on transforming complex project schedules into clear, actionable plans, delivering robust confidence through meticulous planning. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting major infrastructure projects by enhancing schedule robustness, forecasting accuracy, and risk visibility.
Key Responsibilities
As the Scheduling Principal Specialist, you will lead scheduling best practices across large projects and programmes. You'll provide expert advice, assurance, and coaching to project teams and senior stakeholders. Working closely with project controls, risk, and delivery professionals, you will pinpoint critical path risks, enhance forecasting reliability, and support better decision-making through insightful schedule analysis.
Candidate Profile
This position is suited for professionals experienced in project controls or scheduling who appreciate how strong planning, forecasting, and critical path evaluation underpin successful project delivery. Familiarity with Primavera software is beneficial but not mandatory.
Candidate Requirements
- Broad experience in project scheduling and project controls
- In-depth knowledge of critical path methodology and schedule risk management
- Proven ability to develop and validate complex infrastructure project schedules
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on forecasting accuracy
- Effectiveness in communicating complex scheduling data to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative nature with enthusiasm for capability development within teams
