Role Summary

The Scheduler will be charged with creating and consistently updating detailed, resource-loaded schedules for construction projects utilizing Primavera P6 software. The role involves establishing durable scheduling workflows, influencing contractors and trade partners, and promoting a robust scheduling culture throughout the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construct individual project Gantt charts from the ground up using Primavera P6 aligned with the company’s standard Work Breakdown Structure, detailing all tasks, activities, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to establish realistic timeframes covering the entire project lifecycle: feasibility, design, statutory planning, procurement, construction, and operational readiness.
  • Define leads, lags, contingency buffers, and dependencies to accurately identify the critical path for each project.
  • Integrate individual project timelines into a Master Programme Schedule within Primavera P6 to provide a comprehensive view of the Construction Investment Programme (CIP).
  • Perform monthly updates for each project schedule and the integrated Master Programme to facilitate enterprise-level reporting.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews and analyses of contractor schedules, including during tender assessments across projects.
  • Assess impacts of project modifications on budgets and timelines.
  • Support the development of Earned Value Management metrics across the project portfolio.
  • Assist with preparing reports for the Project Management Team.
  • Develop cost-loaded schedules to enable detailed cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide administrative assistance within the Project Controls team, including data analysis and summary report compilation.
  • Facilitate cross-project scheduling meetings to align design consultants, contracting personnel, and contractors on scheduling expectations, promote consistent methodologies, and optimize schedules.
  • Coordinate with pre-construction, construction, design, and capacity planning teams to generate schedules supporting project initiations, budgeting, and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to assess how new designs, materials, and construction techniques affect schedules.
  • Maintain strong communication channels between schedulers and Cost & Risk Management teams to support accurate forecasting and risk evaluation.
  • Create analysis and summary reports based on programme controls data to assist the Programme Controls Manager with ad-hoc queries.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience of over 10 years.
  • Proficient in consolidating and organizing multiple scheduling inputs and performance data into master schedule platforms and preparing comprehensive project and programme status reports.
  • Experienced in developing critical path method schedules from first principles, engaging directly with project teams, and establishing consensus on progress reporting with contractors.
  • Knowledgeable about managing large capital projects with extensive pre-construction programming and multidisciplinary development activities.
  • Capable of fostering positive teamwork while balancing procedural rigor.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and self-motivation skills.
  • Skilled in planning, prioritizing, and managing workload to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • Understanding of project governance and procurement processes.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position based onsite in Greater Dublin.
  • Competitive salary with an attractive benefits package.
  • Includes 8% pension contribution and 25 days annual leave (23 days plus 2 company days).
  • Opportunity to work on innovative, high-impact projects with career growth prospects domestically and internationally.
  • Collaborate with a diverse and talented group of professionals.
  • The company values promoting diversity, inclusion, and work-life balance in a healthy and flexible working environment.
