Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to lead the design and planning of advanced data center projects located in Doha, Qatar. This pivotal leadership role involves managing extensive design portfolios, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring design outputs meet organizational objectives, industry standards, and quality benchmarks. The successful candidate will foster innovation in data center design and manage stakeholders comprehensively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design phases of large-scale data center projects from initial concept to implementation, ensuring schedule, budget, and specification compliance.
• Formulate thorough design strategies and detailed project plans aligned with organizational objectives and stakeholder needs.
• Mentor and guide a team of design professionals, offering technical support, performance assessments, and growth opportunities.
• Coordinate effectively with Programme Management Consultancy (PMC) stakeholders, architects, engineers, and vendors to guarantee smooth project execution and communication.
• Analyze project constraints and requirements, identify possible risks, and develop preemptive mitigation measures.
• Ensure projects adhere to industry codes, standards, and regulations.
• Maintain design documentation, specifications, and technical drawings with precision and consistency across all project stages.
• Track project performance metrics and KPIs, delivering status updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
• Research and evaluate emerging technological advancements and design practices to optimize efficiency and project outcomes.
• Lead stakeholder meetings and presentations to effectively communicate design ideas, progress, and decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in data center, mission-critical, or industrial design and project management roles.
• A minimum of 5 years managing the design delivery of Design & Build projects, spanning concept through construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Comprehensive knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, such as cooling, power distribution, and network architecture.
• Preferably experienced with data center projects within the Middle East region.
