About the Role
Join a leading global consultancy committed to empowering diverse teams and cultivating your professional growth. This position involves spearheading comprehensive data migration initiatives within SAP S/4HANA transformation projects, blending extensive SAP expertise with innovative AI and automation methods to enhance data quality, expedite migration, and minimize delivery risks.
Based preferably in Auckland, New Zealand, with potential flexibility across New Zealand and Australia provided willingness to travel to Auckland.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle data migration for SAP ECC to S/4HANA programs encompassing planning, execution, and cutover phases.
- Develop comprehensive data migration strategies including scope definition, object identification, data sourcing, tooling, and scheduling.
- Oversee data readiness activities such as profiling, cleansing, transformation, and validation processes.
- Conduct data mapping workshops converting business requirements into precise technical specifications.
- Manage migration iterations including build, unit testing, system and user acceptance testing, rehearsal, and final cutover.
- Collaborate with Business Data Owners to enforce data governance, uphold quality standards, and secure approvals.
- Supervise data validation, reconciliation, and the resolution of issues through the migration lifecycle.
- Establish data standards, controls, and audit mechanisms throughout migration stages.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to accelerate tasks like data profiling, cleansing, and reconciliation.
- Identify and apply intelligent automation solutions such as automated data mapping, anomaly detection, and code remediation to streamline migration delivery.
- Design migration frameworks (Greenfield, Brownfield, Selective Data Transition) aligned with organizational goals.
- Select appropriate migration tools and methodologies including LSMW, ETL utilities, and custom routines tailored to object complexity and volume.
- Ensure consistency and integration across various SAP modules including Financials (FI/CO), Materials Management (MM), and Sales & Distribution (SD).
- Function as the subject matter expert for clients and senior stakeholders, advising on migration strategies, risk management, and assuring high-quality delivery.
Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise in SAP with a concentration on data migration.
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end SAP S/4HANA migration projects.
- Comprehensive understanding of the data migration lifecycle from data readiness through testing to cutover.
- Proficiency in SAP migration tools and practices such as LSMW, ETL tools, and custom scripting.
- Experience integrating AI, machine learning, or automation technologies within data migration or data quality enhancements.
- Familiarity with advanced migration tools, data analytics platforms, and automation frameworks.
- Ability to translate AI and automation capabilities into tangible project outcomes.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Capacity to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams for delivery.
- Excellent communication skills to clarify technical information for business audiences.
- Desirable: experience with selective data transition methods, migration accelerators, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), modern data architectures such as Snowflake, and participation in large-scale transformation programs within professional services.
