Role Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) role involves mastering recruiting & sales fundamentals, such as prospecting, client engagement, requirements qualification, and delivery. SDRs focus on the entire sales process, identifying target accounts in a defined territory and initiating cold outreach to schedule meetings. This entry-level sales position is designed for candidates eager to understand the full sales cycle, with clear potential to advance to Account Manager roles. Close collaboration with Delivery and Sales teams is expected to build client connections, generate leads, and support revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the Aerotek SOLVE model (7 stages) to engage and service new/existing clients effectively.
- Expand sales volume and market presence through both assigned and newly sourced accounts.
- Develop prospect lists and call sheets utilizing platforms such as LinkedIn and Connected.
- Identify, nurture, and maintain customer relationships leveraging lead generation tools.
- Complete onboarding training tailored for Account Managers at Aerotek.
- Produce leads, set appointments, and actively participate in meetings within your territory.
- Maximize profitability by negotiating billing rates and contract terms to align with market standards.
- Maintain strong account relationships by delivering quality contractors and promoting candidates proactively.
- Engage in a variety of sales activities including client meetings, site visits, and contractor events.
- Share account insights with internal teams during requirement and Red Zone meetings.
- Partner with Account Managers and Directors to assist with territory strategy and workforce planning.
- Log and track all generated leads and conduct outreach efforts to targeted clients.
Compensation and Benefits
- Unlimited commission potential.
- Paid training period (24 weeks) with a starting base salary of $60,000.
- Post-training base salary escalates to $75,000.
- Top 10% earners average $105,000 in year one, $203,000 in year two, and $266,000 by year five.
- Monthly vehicle allowance ($550) and mobile allowance ($150) following the training phase.

Qualifications
- Possess a sales-related degree or certification, or
