Position Overview
The Sales Associate represents the brand by maximizing sales and providing outstanding customer service. This role includes upholding store standards, supporting visual merchandising, and assisting with overall retail operations under the guidance of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and assist them in choosing products tailored to their needs.
- Engage proactively to convert casual shoppers into buyers.
- Promote the company's loyalty program to boost repeat purchases.
- Provide excellent customer service following the company's GUEST model: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, and Thank.
- Maintain knowledge of the various brands within the group to offer informed suggestions and enable cross-selling.
- Educate customers about product features, benefits, materials, and care guidance.
Appearance and Professionalism
- Maintain a professional and well-groomed presentation at all times.
- Be flexible and ready to work extra hours during peak sales seasons.
- Keep product knowledge current to help reduce stock loss and provide accurate advice.
Merchandising Duties
- Display products appealingly in line with store layout and visual merchandising standards.
- Follow visual merchandising and stock management procedures, especially for clearance items.
- Keep precise records of inventory movements, including incoming and outgoing stock.
- Implement upselling and cross-selling techniques to enhance sales.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of inventory and promotions to communicate clearly with customers.
Operational Processes
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for billing and transactions.
- Manage cash till balance at shift start and end.
- Process payments accurately via cash, credit cards, vouchers, or auto-debits.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and correct change promptly and accurately.
- Maintain store security vigilance and comply with loss prevention policies.
- Restock and reorganize merchandise on the sales floor to ensure continuous product availability.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate holds a bachelor’s degree and demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal abilities to foster a positive customer experience. Previous sales experience is favored but not mandatory.
