About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Sales Assistant to join our Architectural Coatings division at Johnstone’s Decorating Centre, Sheffield. This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to become part of a welcoming and supportive team. Candidates with prior customer-facing experience and a basic understanding of IT systems are preferred, although full training will be provided to all employees to ensure confidence in product knowledge and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and professional service to customers at both the trade counter and in-store
• Complete all training sessions to confidently recommend appropriate products and reinforce brand values
• Maintain the store’s cleanliness and visual presentation at all times
• Manage stock by accepting deliveries and ensuring shelves are consistently well stocked

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous but not mandatory
• Strong communication skills with a positive and customer-oriented mindset
• Basic proficiency in IT systems
• Flexibility regarding working hours and job duties
• Possession of a valid driving license is a requirement for this role
