About the Role
Join the Payroll team at Bird Construction as a Salary Payroll Administrator responsible for ensuring timely and precise payroll processing that aligns with Company standards and government regulations. This role demands meticulous attention to detail within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process payroll for salaried and hourly employees.
- Calculate salaries for new hires, modifications, and terminations.
- Reconcile deductions including taxes, benefits, and workers' compensation board (WCB) contributions.
- Manage payroll remittances to benefit providers, tax bodies, and WCB, maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
- Address payroll-related questions from staff and management with professionalism.
- Generate various month-end payroll reports.
- Use ROE Web to prepare Records of Employment.
- Compile correspondence, statistical data, and other payroll documentation.
- Support management during internal and external payroll audits.
- Safeguard confidentiality of payroll information and operations.
- Carry out additional payroll-related administrative duties as required.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years’ comprehensive payroll experience covering the full payroll cycle.
- Possession of Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation and familiarity with in-house payroll systems is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and adept at handling data processing.
- Skilled in managing confidential information discreetly.
- Exceptional communication capabilities paired with customer service focus and cooperative team orientation.
- Ability to manage significant workloads effectively, meet strict deadlines, and ensure accuracy with great attention to detail.
