Job description
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Administrator (Hourly) oversees the accurate and prompt processing of the company's payroll, ensuring full compliance with corporate policies and government regulations. This role is located in either the Winnipeg or Edmonton office.
Primary Duties
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees.
- Calculate pay adjustments for new hires, modifications, and terminations.
- Generate various reports at month-end.
- Address payroll-related questions and concerns with employees and management.
- Prepare correspondence, statistical data, and related payroll documents.
- Support management during internal and external audits.
- Uphold confidentiality to protect payroll data and employee trust.
- Create Records of Employment (ROE) using ROE Web platform.
- Reconcile and prepare year-end payroll documentation.
- Perform additional payroll-related administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of experience managing full payroll cycles.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification and familiarity with proprietary payroll systems are advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and solid data management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, customer service orientation, and collaborative spirit.
- Ability to handle high workload volumes, meet stringent deadlines, and maintain precision.
- Skilled in building and sustaining positive cross-functional relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Talent for balancing multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Analytical thinker with problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
