Job Overview

We are seeking a Salaried General Practitioner based at Royal Derby Hospital to assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with urgent, undifferentiated illnesses and minor injuries within the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) setting. You will use evidence-based clinical decision making and undertake investigations such as point-of-care testing, ECGs, and imaging where authorized. This role demands maintaining full GMC registration, a licence to practise, and inclusion on the NHS Performers List, along with meeting ongoing professional development and appraisal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage urgent medical presentations and minor injuries in line with UTC guidelines and local protocols.
• Perform thorough clinical histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments grounded in evidence-based practices.
• Order, interpret, and act upon appropriate diagnostic tests, including point-of-care tests, ECGs, and imaging as available.
• Maintain professional registrations, including GMC licence and NHS Performers List inclusion.
• Fulfill appraisal, revalidation, mandatory training, and continuing professional development obligations.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Medical degree (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
• Full General Medical Council registration with a licence to practise.
• Inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
• Completed GP training or possess equivalent experience relevant to this role.
• Practical experience in general practice, urgent care, out of hours services, emergency medicine, or unscheduled care environments.
• Competency in safely assessing and managing patients with undifferentiated urgent presentations.
