Safety Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and proactive Safety Officer to work in Dubai, specializing in the elevator sector. The role demands a good grasp of UAE health, safety, and environmental rules, focusing on maintaining safe practices during elevator installation, maintenance, and modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct frequent site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure safety standards.
• Guarantee adherence to UAE safety laws and company safety protocols.
• Supervise activities related to elevator installation, maintenance, and upgrades, ensuring secure work methods.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety inductions, and training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
• Investigate safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, compiling comprehensive reports with corrective actions.
• Maintain all HSE documentation, permits, records, and reports accurately.
• Organize emergency response procedures and conduct drills.
• Identify hazards proactively and enforce preventive measures.
• Serve as liaison with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies on safety issues.
• Ensure that the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety requirements are consistently followed on-site.

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the elevator industry.
• Preferred certifications include NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certifications.
• Extensive knowledge of UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations and best industry practices.
• Possession of a valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent skills in reporting, documentation, and managing stakeholder communications.
• Able to work autonomously and efficiently handle multiple project locations.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in elevator installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning projects.
• Proven experience conducting safety audits and site inspections.
• Detail-focused, proactive, with strong enforcement of safety standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with capacity to educate and motivate teams.
• Preference will be given to immediate joiners or those available at short notice.
